The Insider

With an incredibly minimal pile height, The Insider line can fit under most doors easily. But it never hurts to check! The height (or thickness) is 1/8''. We recommend a door clearance of 1/4”.

Yes, but the Insider is designed for direct contact with hard flooring surfaces and this is not our recommended use.

Our preferred method is to shake out the mat. If vacuuming, be sure to adjust settings so the rotating brushes are on higher setting to prevent fiber damage or fraying from the beater bar.

Our preferred method: apply cold water (using the most forceful water pressure as possible) to remove stains. Hang to dry. Do not machine wash as it may cause the proprietary backing to pull apart from the face. 


For tougher stains, we have found that OxiClean™ works best. Rub a small amount of OxiClean™ on the stain with a damp microfiber and allow it to absorb for 5-10 minutes. Hose down and hang to dry.

Our current Insider sizes are: Doormat 2'2" x 3'0", Runner 2'2" x 6' 7", XL Runner 2'3" x 8' 6" and Area Mat 4'6" x 6'6".

Yes, the Insider is safe to use on all floor types. The Insider has been tested on heated floors and can withstand heat up to 97 degrees fahrenheit. It is also safe on LVP floors. It will not transfer or leave residue.

The Outsider

The Outsider has been tested for CA65 (the most stringent state standards in the US) and confirmed to have no phthalates, heavy metals or formaldehyde. The insert face is CRI Green Label Plus certified. The insert backing, made of ECO+ rubber, is recycled and recyclable and does not contain harmful carcinogenic substances. Quality materials are a core principle of the Porte + Hall ethos and we will continually work to improve and introduce products that further promote these values.

The wood rails and powder coated aluminum corners require no maintenance except an occasional wipe down with a soft cloth, and if needed a cleaning with dish soap (we like using original Dawn dish soap) and water. If the product is directly exposed to weather (no overhang or covering at all), the wood rail color may gradually fade due to extreme exposure to sunlight over an extended period of time.

Yes, with a few considerations for extreme weather. We have designed The Outsider to withstand the abuse of the elements. However, some additional care should be taken if the mat is directly exposed to extreme weather.

Rain: the insert takes its job of absorbing water seriously! If directly exposed to a serious downpour, the insert will dry out more quickly if it is taken out and placed on its side for the water to run off.

Freezing rain/ice/snow: as with any freezing conditions, the Outsider can become slippery. We recommend only using The Outsider in outdoor protected areas for snow and ice conditions.

The Outsider overall height is 1”. We recommend a clearance of 1¼” underneath the door.

Yes! We offer additional insert replacements in three colors. Head here and you can easily change your insert based on the season or just a change of mood!

To insure the utmost safety of our product, we sell the insert and frame together. We do not recommend inserting any other insert into The Outsider frame.

The Outlier

Specifically designed to be exposed to the elements, The Outlier is great at any door. If there’s lots of bits stuck in your mat, that means we’re doing our job right! To clean it, we recommend giving it a quick shake out and sweep to remove debris. If it still needs some love, hose it down! The hidden vents easily drain water.

The Outlier is 3/4” high and was designed so that the majority of doors will easily clear its height.

Yes. It was built to withstand the elements from the East to West coast and everything in between. Rain or shine, The Outlier stands its ground.

Yes! We’re proud to be 100% recyclable and non-toxic. When your Outlier has reached the end of its road, return it to Porte + Hall and we'll recycle it into a new mat!

The Outlier is designed with small vents throughout the mat that aid in dissipating moisture and allowing it to evaporate. Instead of water collecting in a single location, we’re able to break it up and spread it out so that it dries faster.

Returns

P+H wants our customers to be completely happy with their purchase. We will accept returns within thirty (30) days of order placement for a full refund. Goods must be returned unused in original packaging. Return shipping charges will be deducted from the original form of payment. All Sale products are final sale.

Return shipping fees are due to extremely high shipping costs that our carriers have imposed on us. The return shipping fee is only a fraction of the actual shipping cost. The return shipping fees range from $10-$35 depending on the product you are returning. We do not charge any other restocking fees.
